Students wishing to collaborate and produce a joint thesis must consult their individual advisors. At the end of the thesis preparation semester and no later than the first week of the thesis semester, the students must prepare a petition to the Office for Graduate Education (OGE) that includes the following:
- One paragraph describing the unique contributions of student A to the thesis project
- One paragraph describing the unique contributions of student B to the thesis project
- One paragraph describing the joint contributions of both students
Follow the degree-specific (e.g., SMArchS) thesis preparation and guidelines.
See the template for the joint thesis title page.
The two students produce one thesis, and both students are listed on the title page.
